At higher grades you must be able to discuss with the examiner musical features such as texture, structure, style, and period of a piece of music. Musical structureThe structure of music is its plan, structure or design. On first listening to a symphony, you will be aware of different themes that identify each of the movements. You may also be aware that these movements have a tonality - a sense of key - that marks them out from each other.
Take a moment to think of as many ways as you can, that a
composer could "mark out" different movements in a symphony.Try to add three things to this list:
